We tent camped late August, 2005. The entire campground was closed all of 2004 for renovations and it shows. Everything is new! The restrooms, campsites, playground etc. All sites feature new, paved pads that will accomodate even the largest rigs with multiple slide-outs. Nonetheless, tent campers will find plenty of room for their tents in the grass or sand (this is at the base of sand dunes, of course.) The campground sites all have some shade; some have complete shade. Electric hookups ONLY. Access to a GREAT beach is a 10 minute walk via a trail leaving the campground or a quick drive. The camp store has all the basics; ice is $4.50 for a large 20lb bag, $8.50 for 12 pieces of firewood (decent sizes, you pick them out), and $1.79 for a bar of soap (you PAY for convenience!) The nearby town of Chesterton has a K-mart and a couple grocery stores. The sites are a little close together, otherwise I would've rated them a "5."
